RAHWAY, N.J. – Infectious diseases expert Christina Muzny, M.D., M.S.P.H., is serving on the editorial board for MerckManuals.com, an authoritative medical reference.
In her role for the Merck Manuals, Dr. Muzny collaborates with the other board members to review the online content for accuracy and relevance.
Dr. Muzny’s clinical and research interests focus on sexually transmitted infections in women. She is a Professor of Medicine, Epidemiology, and Obstetrics & Gynecology in the Division of Infectious Diseases at University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Dr. Muzny is also Medical Director of the UAB ID Vaginitis Clinic. She is also Chair of the UAB Institutional Review Board.
Dr. Muzny is a graduate of the Texas A&M University Health Sciences Center College of Medicine. She completed an internal medicine residency and an infectious diseases fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She later obtained an M.S.P.H. in Public Health/Epidemiology from UAB’s School of Public Health.
