Hashim Ahmed brings over 25 years of experience to Avomeen to further expand its formulation and manufacturing business.

Avomeen recently announced Hashim Ahmed, Ph.D. as its new Head of Formulation and Manufacturing. In this position, Ahmed will further strengthen and expand Avomeen’s formulation and manufacturing segment by partnering with biopharmaceutical clients who are navigating the small- and large-molecule product development life cycle.
“Hashim brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in manufacturing science and technology, product development, and CMC,” said Mark Harvill, Avomeen Chief Executive Officer. “His blend of leadership, experience in biopharma companies and CDMOs and small-molecule and large-molecule expertise will help us fortify and expand this business segment to include more services.”
Ahmed comes to Avomeen with more than 25 years of experience from the biopharmaceutical and CDMO industries. Most recently, he held a Managing Director position at QLife Pharma. Prior to this, he has held leadership positions at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, GSK-Stiefel, and Hoffmann-La Roche Inc. Ahmed has also served as a consultant for various biopharmaceutical companies, imparting his expertise on effective risk assessment (RA) control strategy, specification, and chemistry, manufacturing and control (CMC) modules, including CMC-Quality for various dosage forms development; investigational new drug, abbreviated new drug application, new drug application, 505b2, RA, and quality by design (QbD) filings; and both conventional and QbD-based tech-transfer across global sites.
Throughout his career, Ahmed has served as a pharmaceutical product development and regulatory expert and has worked on a diverse portfolio of APIs and dosage forms. His in-depth experience extends to both small and large molecules (proteins and peptides), orals (tablets and capsules), controlled-modified release formulations, and parenterals dosages. He holds 21 patents on drug formulation and process in the United States and globally and has more than 30 presentations and publications of his work in various symposiums and conferences.
Ahmed is a World Health Organization Fellow and member of a number of professional organizations, including the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, Sudanese Medical Society, and Sudanese Pharmaceutical Society. He holds a doctorate degree in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Khartoum and a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the University of Khartoum.
